SLP has established Nordic Innovation and Technology Institute under its wings. The Institute provides training in Innovation Management and Marketing.

SLP INNOVATIONS and TURKU SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS announced the research results on training needs of the BIOTECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY in FINLAND

SLP Innovations Ltd and The Turku School of Economics jointly presented the results of the research on the training needs of the biotechnology industry and as well as their recommendations on how to prepare to run successful biotechnology firms. The results were presented for the first time at a public event on 21st November 2006.

The research was a joint research undertaken between July 2006 and September 2006 based on interviews with industry representatives and a survey of researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and business managers of firms in the biotechnology industry in Finland. The research was undertaken in response to current concern about the challenges that the biotechnology industry faces in Finland and how effective training will bring out the full potential of biotechnology as a leading industry in Finland.

The research was undertaking by Foster Ofosu and Laura Heinonen both of Turku School of Economics and Sanna Paakkonen, Managing Director of SLP Innovations Ltd. Foster Ofosu is currently completing a doctoral study on Innovation and International Technology Transfer due for public defense in early 2007 and Laura Heinonen is a doctoral researcher on commercialization measures in the biotechnology industry.
